What's the cheapest brand new PH car in the UK?

Just wondering, if you were one of these people who have to be the first owner, what could you buy that hopefully us PHers would consider a worthy car?
Doesn't have to be list price, it could be a drive the deal broker type price, and I guess a pre-reg is allowed as you would be the first proper owned.

+1 I would go for this drove a mates and thought it was far too much fun for a little car. Also it was very very nippy for a 1.0 I was amazed following it along some lanes in my MG and had to really work to keep up it even sounds a little bit like a Porsche... soad said:

Mate picked his up for around 6k but his brother works at citroen... I believe they retail at just over 8k for the vtr like he has but can get some money knocked off that or buy a cheaper version for less as well. Really they are a great value for money car I was expecting it to be cheap s

So, a brand new VTR+ with a couple of options to make it look *ok* would come out at sub £10k with some haggling. Or possibly about £150 a month on a PCP or suchlike. £20 VED, 60mpg and not much to insure.
I could run one of these and, in 6-12months with the savings against my current steed, look to get SFTW during the dark winter months when bargains can be found.
In the meantime, the C1 would be doing the daily slog, giving good mpg sat at motorway speeds for 60miles a day. It should entertain *enough*, too when the mood strikes...
Would fit in nicely with the new co car allowance rules of low co2 cars; its so cheap that the balance of the allowance could be put towards a toy...

Is the peugeot one any good? They do a deal that included insurance, servicing etc etc for not alot.

I think that's going a bit far, but at this end of the market I'd agree. Buying new at <10k is a pretty sure sign of non-PHness, in my experience. There are so many wonderful <10k drivers' cars on the second hand market...I'm going to go for the cheapest true PH "production" car being a bottom end Caterham.

Ive not looked to be honest. I had a play with the citroen configurator at lunch and there are a couple of options to spice up the looks a little without impacting heavily on price. I think the pug and also the aygo are essentially the same car though?snorkel sucker said:

Some quick sums reveal that one of these would save me enough to get a sports car come jan/feb next year.
Its a tempting proposition. Having just hooned around the alps in a sub 100bhp rental car, ive become quite fond of getting the most out of a weedy powerplant

Stupidly cheap for a new car, especially given 1/2 year old used examples sell for the same if not more. Will cost pennies to run.
As for the PH requirement, they are surprisingly fun to drive and miss a lot of the electrical crap you get on most modern cars.
