Hi lads,
Going to be taking off my decals [replacing them] and one of them look's as if it has been laquered over, whats the best way to take them off.
Would the heat from a hair dryer do it ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jonny, hair dryer is the best way to remove the decals, then spray the sticky residue with Pledge or Mr Sheen, leave on for 5 mins and Voila....it just wipes off.
Don't know how you go about removing decals that have been laquered over though.

Chedder...

P.S..Hows the steering wheel?

Is the steeding wheel on the cock when you put it on? Two ways to fix that - take the shaft off the spline lower down, rotate until straight and replace (preferred) or tweak the steering/track rods by an equal amount, but you might run out of adjustment if you're unlucky.

I actually prefer the wheel slightly pointing to the right as I can leave my elbow on the armrest and steer with two fingers on the crossbar...

The most important hole for Jonny is the one you pour the rusty down drink

As for decals hot water, not boiling but pour over, start peeling and pour more one as you pull

The one with lacquer might be hard to get off without cracking the surrounding lacquer. You might have to use the finest sand paper available just to get down to the edge of the vinyl, then remove it. This will leave a lip that will need flattened.

I don't think hot water and hair dryers mix, so pick one method and stick to it. Shouldn't take long to do, but sounds like a three handed job (one to hold the hair dryer/hot water and two to peel the decal). I can come and help for an hour at the weekend if you want, just let me know. I've never done it before, but wouldn't want you to struggle. You can't be far from me in Lanark?

laughlaughlaugh Apparentlly for some you dont see the right hole as often as you would wish for, as for the haggis once you mount it, it can be a bit messy.
That's why it's easier working on Wedges.
