I quite like the American version. The UK version has a decent spread of news and opinion, too.

Is it intended to be a left-wing and labour mouthpiece?

It's just that a quick scan of the front page shows blogs or articles by:

Ed Milliband given headline space to take political advantage of the phone hacking scandal
Amnesty Int complaining about deporting illegals
Police federation moaning about cuts
Alistair Campbell
Peter Tatchell
Will Straw
Green taxes should reduce train fares
Etc, etc.

Makes the Grauniad look like the BNP monthly newsletter on first encounter. smile

Not really sure what you're complaining about.

1. Cameron's making a right arse of this whole thing, and the leader of the opposition is going to do their best to shoe him for it. I want to see Cameron booted up and down. What doesn't kill him makes him stronger etc.
2. Good. If the deportation process stands up to AI's protestations, then it's more likely to be sound. Challenging processes and assumptions is a good thing.
3. Good. I thought here on PH we were in favour of a copper on every corner, dishing out a firm but fair clip round the ear to the local oiks?
4. The Campbell story is about how Miliband and Balls are a pair of s, so that's good.
5. Dunno who Will Straw is
6. Something ought to reduce train fares...

Judging by your staunch defence, you are a fan of this news source. I on the other hand have never seen it before and my first impressions are pretty much every story on the front page today is written by the opposition side. I was hoping you would give me some indication as to the typical positioning of this the site and whether today is typical or not. I obviously expected too much.

It's not a "staunch defence".

It's an indication of where I think you're talking bks.

There is a difference.

Dividing politics into "left/right" or "us/them" is retarded.

It's Peter G Tatchell (no, I don't know why either)

The Lefties haven't got it all to themselves - perhaps they were more desperate quicker off the mark. smile

Not as retarded as failing to realise every newspaper reports from a particular political perspective and aims for a perticular audience. As you seem ill-equipped to answer a simple question on a thread you started, I shall just have to keep dipping in and decide for myself whether day one is representative of the content bias or not.

Despite all of the recent events occuring under the previous Labour government? What did they do to resolve the problem back in 2006? Or did they jump into bed with the Murdoch Empire too?

Yes, they did, unquestionably, and it's only now that NI have gone beyond the tipping point that Miliband has looked into his underpants and identified his gonads, what with his "The ginger witch must burn!" schtick of the past day or so. I'm sure he's enjoying feeling as though he's actually doing something for once.

On the other hand Cameron's fked; he's spent so long gently tonguing the Murdoch sphincter (via Brooks et al) that he knows fine well that he stands a decent chance of looking like a right hypocrite. Whilst I think he's making a right arse of this whole thing, I also struggle to see what else he can do that wouldn't be political suicide.

Hopefully, he will emerge from this with more wisdom and less desire to follow the capricious zephyr that is public opinion.

Looks crude and basic compared to UK broadsheet websites.

But still good to have HuffPo over here.
