Dead 1.3 - 06 -plate Suzuki Swift - Help Needed

Brothers 1.3 06 plate (I think) Suzuki Swift was left running for a short while with the radio on but car off. (don't know how long a short while is yet).
Went to start the car again and nothing. The key clicks as it turns but no attempt to start. Lights come on dash aswell.
The battery has 3 lights on it, green for ok, amber for not so ok and black for dead. When we connected the jump leads and left running for about 10 mins the green light came on immediately but still wouldn't start even when still connected up on charge.
Doesn't sound like battery or alternator as the green light wouldn't have came on and it would start when on charge (I my head this makes sense.) Does this sound like the starter motor?
The thing that got me is the central locking doesn't work and has to be done by the key which suggest electrical problem.
I'm not a mechanic and not with him or the car at present so any ideas greatly appreciated.
