One for the girls .. what colour carpet will match purple'ish mocha walls with a white ceiling? I ordered some Mocha paint from Dulux but it turns out it is more lilac than brown and thus a light brown carpet probably won't match. Oh, and the skirting boards and coving are also in white.

Did you just look in the tin, or paint a bit and let it dry?

Erm, well it kinda looked good on their website. And it had some funky reviews - though admitedly some of those reviews did allude to its purpleness. Also the decorator managed to mix up the primer with my mocha paint, hence the mauve skirting boards need to be rectified .. which kind of when i noticed its lilac hue.

But i likes it anyway, and i think it adds a bit of feminine charm. So what carpet colour?

You can't judge colour from a website; too many things can be wrong, not least your monitor.

Carpet. Well with brown walls I think you're in what I call the 'brown trap'. Or cream - but hell to keep clean. Or wood?

Hence, my switching from Brown to Lilac.

Ok, the girlies in the office unanimously tell me that a light-medium gray carpet would work well with lilac/purple and who am i to argue.

We got that Mocha and have put up with it for about 2yrs... Going White all round!

It looks it's best in bright sunlight.

Another vote for the light-medium gray coloured carpet, perhaps with beige fleks smile
It goes with most colours and hides 'walk-in' dirt/spills smile
