I'm looking at a brand new single story property (about 1400 sq feet) which, because of it's location, would make a great buy if I could put an extension on the back.

If I did this I would want to replace all the radiators with a wet UFH system at the same time as I really love UFH.

Anyone know what the costs would be of getting a company in to, I assume, dig up the screed and install a UFH system. I understand I may need a new boiler but wanted to understand if this is something that's do-able, sensible or just plain nuts!!

Thanks

If it's got concrete floors I can recommend the polypipe overlay wet UFH. I've had it installed in my kitchen after seeing it recommended on here by someone:

You lay it over the to of the existing floor, so no need to dig it all up.

If you have 140 sqm of living area, you would need around 750 metres of pipe - which you should be able to buy for about a pound a metre.

Hence fitting it yourself should cost less than a thousand.

Worth considering if you are that sort of person.
