Wheel wobble- big time!

I've recently had my wheels re-furbed all round. Driving back from the garage, I noticed really bad wheel wobble and vibration through the seat when reaching around 55-60 mph. I thought it would just be because all of the weights were taken off during the re-furb and would just need re-balancing.
Went to Event tyres today where I've had wheels balanced in the past and allways been pleased with the result. Wheels were balanced and off I went, only to find the problem was still there just as bad!
I took the car back to them and they said the wheels were all balanced correctly but would do them again. Two of them were quite out which the mechanic couldn't understand but re-did them and I saw the machine showed them all spot on.
Drove away and the problem is still there!
Could it be anything other than the balancing? Any reason why the whels would be un-balanced after only driving a couple of miles? Thinking of taking it to another garage and seeing if they can do any better!

Are the wheels after-market? If they are check the spigot rings are still fitted in the centre bore of the wheel, they may have been removed during the refurb.

I watched the wheels on the machine and each one balanced ok. Not had the car long and it's a 52 plate but pretty sure they are standard wheels.
What are spigot and how do I check them?

Is this on the E46 M3 listed in your profile, if so what wheels are on the M3, standard BMW 18 or 19's or 'others'?

Cheers DOOGZ, I'll take it to another garage tomorrow! The wheels were fine before the re-furb so really annoying.
I knew un-balanced wheels were bad but it really is like driving on cobbles!


It's not the M3, just need to change my profile! It's a focus ST170 with what appear to be standard ST170 wheels.
