No tickets left for friday silverstone???

Ive just called silverstone, they tell me they dont know if they will have "any tickets" to sell for friday practice and to turn up and hope for the best..... Not good! Me and three mates are going, i diddnt pre order as i knew there would be no probs getting one on the day.... Any thoughts???

Cheers richard, as it goes im sat in luffield 2 now... Got a ticket at car park 49 from staff. There are still tickets left, by the way, getting in off the a43 was very well organised.

t. £60 per person *including* for my 3 year old son?? WTF? None of the people on the gates seemed to know where spectator areas were, appalling traffic control on the way out saw us stuck for 2 hours in a car park...great spectator experience Silverstone. Money well spent.
There seemed to be more people here today than the last time I went to the BGP race day in 2000.

The way out was hopeless. We were in a car park adjacent to the main entrance. There were random queues forming within the car park around the exits, and the people on traffic duty didn't have a clue what to do. They appeared to be completely uncoordinated. People were getting very upset. I'd have expected a few Police to be around on the roads, but there was no sign of them. From getting in the car to leave, to getting on the A43 was two hours...
Within the circuit, I asked 3 stewards questions about ticket offices and spectator areas around the 'new' bits of the circut, and got three incorrect answers. In the end - more through luck than judgement) we got great covered seats opposite the pits, and I was really impressed by the view there (although I dread to think how much it costs for Sunday). We moved stands for the GP2 practice, and that position was just as good.
BTW, when I 'phoned the circuit on Thursday they said it was unlikely I'd get a ticket on the gate for Friday unless I was there first thing. When I 'phoned this morning, they said there would be no problem even with a late start.
Judging by today's experience, Silverstone has got a lot of things right with the redevelopment, but boy do they have a hell of a lot of work still to do regarding organization for the paying spectator. In this regard it was by far the worst experience for a GP weekend I've ever had at Silvertone. If it had been my first visit, it would almost certainly have been my last!
Dr gn, you make a valid point, i started this topic as i was needing a ticket for friday, dispite plenty of negative comment on here, me and three lads made the journey, we arrived at 8.15. We were sent to three or four gates in search of buying tickets on the day, as it happened, they had loads of tickets left, the staff thought it was funny i was so worried, yet on thursday evening they said they had sold out.
Getting out the car park was tuff, bearing in mind, pretty much the whole place was trying to leave, it took a while, we followed some cars to the bottom corner of the field which led to a dirt track, which irthough took 15 mins, put us straight on to the a43 southbound.
Expecting to 16 year old security team to give you a guide of where to sit...? No chance.
Overall, having been going to silverstone for 17 years, the new facilities are very good, the pit looks world class. I will be back, but fk me i will be booking in advance!

k me i will be booking in advance! Was the attendance larger than usual? I haven't been on a Friday before. I was in the Beckets stand for practice 2, there wasn't a free seat to be had. Same for the last turn and pit straght stands in P1(arrived too late to get in those) The usual traffic control was not in place yet for the exit and roads, so I guess they didn't expect the big turnout.
