So tonight we have the American remake of the Danish crime drama series. Expect emotions and some tense scenes over the next 12 weeks, let's hope it's half as good as the original!!

Very good.

I'm hooked now. Will stay and watch the rest.

It is a pleasant change to watch a US made drama that is prepared to take a little time and build up the characters and tell a story properly. Too many US drama ( especially those in the CSI stylee) seem to have been designed for ADHD sufferers with the attention span of a lobotomised insect, they go so fast.

But not here. This is proper story telling. Good stuff.

It's good but no where near as good as the original. I really do urge anyone to hunt down the Danish series "Forbrydelsen" on DVD boxset and watch it. Preferably before you see the rest of this US remake!!!

It's quite intriguing. I like the actors behind the Larsons (Michelle Forbes from ST:TNG and BSG, and Brent Sexton from Life), and the guy who plays the make cop-lead is interestingly-shifty.

It's tough watching though. I have kids and things like this play on my mind.

It's really good, and worth watching them all. It's been commissioned for a second series and there's one hell of a plot twist at the end of season 1....!!

The second series is already out and coming to BBC4 soon if we are talking about the Danish Killing. Forget this remake it's pants in comparison.

I was taking about the remake, which I really enjoyed. I'll get hold of the Danish one though, all reports seem to suggest it's excellent too.

The noticeable differences between the original and remake seem to be the Meyer (Lund/Linden's partner) is most 'dodgy' in the American version and the Larson's 2 sons are slightly older which might give them actual use such as when they were on the beach having the news broken to them, they could understand and react rather than just standing around like they did in the Danish version.

Promising start.

Will the next 12 episodes be as long as last nights?

I swear there must have been 7 AD breaks. SO annoying if, like me, you don't have sky +.

No, last nights was two episodes in one slot. Next episode will be episode three.

Watched the pilot (ep. 1 & 2) and then the third as well last night, as I was hooked. Very good TV.

As much as I should have watched the Danish one first, I won't bother now.....

Pity as its far better than that American rubbish adaptation. Watched the opener last night and gave up after half an hour, the whole thing is so poor compared to the original.

Agreed - I watched the first 8 eps of the US version and then decided to watch the entire Danish version first.

The original is a lot more subtle and nuanced, I wont watch the remainder of the US version.

Just a reminder!

Tonight at 9pm on BBC4 is a rerun of the original Danish version for those who have not seen it.

Season 2 is coming soon too!
