pace 66 notice

can anyone help me on this.i have had a pace 66 notice on my vehicle for 7 months because the police say they are investigating if it was bought legally as it was on sale or return and the company went bump without paying the previous owner.i have a receipt,logbook,finance agreement(blackhorse),service history,etc.how long can they keep this notice on the vehicle and what action can i take to get it removed.
