Ok, you guys have always been spot on and know more than the "dealer" I use. ie the dethrottle chip, they didn't know it even existed. so here's another one.

Bear with me as its a long one. OK first started 1 month after purchase. After a long run I turned the engine off and returned to start it up about 1/4hr later it started no probs with a little gas and then when falling to idle kept on going down till it stalled. Had to get home so braked using the hand brake keeping the revs up with the throttle. Got home it cooled down stated and then no probs. Now 4mnths it doing it again, alot (except when the dealer tries). Its mainly on restart, with it also when you turn the key (on restart) its as though the battery is flat everthing goes slow as you know, but then wham!! a new lease of live and it starts, then stalls. If I use the hand break trick 5mins down the road it idle is normal and all is fine. I have notice as well after the dethrottle chip it idels at 5/6 then changes to 7/8 and back again different everytime it goes to idle. On semi-warmn on the motorway gave it some welly and then put the cluch down quickly, then it stall. Rack you brains guys cos it getting to the point where the car will have to go, and as you can sell it.

Thanks

Nothing to do with your stalling problem, but instead of using your handbrake to slow, try learning to heel & toe - at least you'll be able to stop properly, even if your engine needs some more throttle....

As I beleive the SP6 has no mixture adjust on the warmup cycle. The choke elememt is dealt with by retading the ignition only. Normaly if the idle overal is set too low when cold the retarded ignition doesn't make enough difference to stop it from stalling. Your idle should be set to about 1000 rpm ie 10 when cold this will run at 9. If it is set to 7/8 which some were you may well have stalling problems.

The fact it is doing it when warm is unusual and would indicate the engine needs a reset and retune. It maybe that some of the butterflies are not matched and at idle are not letting enough bleed air in hence they will stall on lift off.

My advice is get the engine retuned and set the idle to about 1000rpm
