What car? £2000, 200BHP+, One last hurrah.....

OK I have decided at around christmas time I'm going to purchase a new car, think it may be a good time to purchase with people feeling the pinch when it comes to buying presents etc
I don't earn a massive amount of money myself, however I do still live at my parents which gives me plenty of disposable income. With fuel prices the way they are going I thought I might as well treat myself to a silly fast car and run it for as long as I can afford to before I am priced off the road. A rather pessimistic view I know, but I would like to experience the feeling of owning something with preferably 200bhp + and a 0-60 time of under 7 seconds before it's too late!
I'll be 24 with 3 years no claims so insurance shouldn't be TOO much of a problem, although stuff like Imprezas are still out of reach for the moment.
Budget is 2000-2500, ideally the car needs to be
Reliable and well built to some extent (I know its a lottery at this budget)
Not hideously complicated (something my indy mechanic won't be scratching his head at)
So far I've come up with
E36 328 (I've owned a 323 and 316 and know them like the back of my hand)
Honda Accord Type-R - Possibly winning so far in terms of all round completeness
Vauxhall Astra Coupe Turbo (Scope for tuning)
Toyota MR2 Turbo (Not so keen on 2 seats though)
Some options below 200bhp
A3 1.8T/Leon Cupra/Mk4 Golf GTI - Plentyful supply and scope for re-maps etc
Seat Ibiza 1.8T Cupra - As above but lighter
306 GTI-6 - Misses the 200bhp but I do like the look of them and the supposedly excellent handling
What do the rest of you think? Would a classic be worth considering? Especially one that is currently appreciating.

You say £2000-2500 so this comes in nicely at £2,350: MG ZS180 2.5L V6, 2005 (2005) 40,300 miles £2,350
It is 25 bhp away from 200bhp and it does 0-60 in slightly over 7 seconds (7.3) however the GTI-6 is a little under 200bhp as you say. And the MG (as well as the Peugeot) was praised for superb handling, roadholding and suspension. It's no slouch and has a very nice part leather interior without wood but it's a practical to own car.
