How much hissing is normal???
Discussion
Since buying this chim everytime I release the fuel cap I get a hiss, sometimes it really is a big hiss and it feels like the cap is pushing up??? I do remember my old one hissing a bit but don't remember it being as much as this one. Ive not heard any of the creaking that Ive read other people have though(although I might just not have noticed). Just wondered what other people think and if it is seriously wrong whats the best place to start, so far Ive just been leaving the cap slightly loose for peace of mind. Any help or views appreciated.

Guys I would be careful with this, I had a similar problem and thought they all did it until my tank actually imploded. The thing twisted right in on itself so it would only hold about half the normal volume. They can get a little hissing, but if you are getting much then it means something is wrong as the tank should vent via a carbon canister and avoid too much suction being built up. In my case the canister was blocked. So if the suction is enough to make the filler cap stick a bit when you are taking it off I would get it checked as the cost of new canister, fuel tank, labour, etc. was not insignificant.
Had a quick look this morning, tryed sucking/blowing (sounds so wrong) the open end vent pipe near the radiator, you can do it but feels like its pushing back like a blockage at the other end of the pipe. Disconnected the smaller of the 2 hoses going from the inner wing to the inlet manifold(assume this is the carbon can one?) that also feels blocked. Is there anything else I should check before I attempt to get to the carbon canister??? I think the pushing up on the fuel cap when releasing was just me being thick and forgetting about the cap having a spring, but it does make a big hissss when undone.

Mine emits a hiss.
The carbon canister is blocked, but I can't be arsed to fix it. Coupled to a air tight Leven filler cap, there's no air getting in to the tank to replace the fuel being used up. Easiest repair for me is to just loosely re-fit the cap after filling up.
Iam thinking the same as I assume both the pipes I tryed are connected to the carbon can, anybody know if theres anything else I can check first as seems a pig to get to carbon can??? If it definately is that I might just keep leaving cap loose till winter and put it on my winter to do list! The carbon canister is blocked, but I can't be arsed to fix it.
