demister

the car is a 97 and the problem is the demister/heater fan dosent work.The fan works with a direct feed from the battery but wont work with the switch.Can anyone tell me which one of the little black boxes controls the fan and what ells I should be looking for.

ive had the car six years but this happend a year ago but as i was changing the dash i thought i would get it sorted.

There's a control box under the top dash, you can find it by following the switch wires. These are prone to failure due to a week track on the circuit board. This would be my first port of call. If you find that it is looking scorched at one of the crimp terminals then I suggest this will be the problem. Easy to fix if you can solder. All you need to do is solder a wire to bypass the circuit board track

cheers Bob unfortunatly nothing that obvious,have eaven tried ordering another black box but because mine dosnt have any numbers on it no one can help .At this rate may have to try and bypass thecontrols and fit some other methode of controling the fan
