Hi all

Just received my new winter hack / tip run / dog walking / greenlaning toy smile

Its a 1997 Jap import 2.8 TD Pajero.

Its got full leather, electric everything, so many confusing buttons its untrue. Its got a digital compas in the dash as well as an altimeter and a thing that tells you how much you are tilting !? lots of settings for the gearbox too for offroading. Should be a lot of fun and easily fit 3 dogs in the back. Everything seems to work in it.

Just needs a 2 inch lift and some mud tyres and it will be spot on!! Got a brand new MOT on it with no advisories, very happy. Need to get it off road now and see how it does. Its replacing my ageing Discovery 300tdi.

Pics below, one on its own, one with one of its 'fleet mates' my 330ci looking quite clean for once

Its nice to have something Jap back in the stable smile

Looks just fine, perfect for winter months motoring. Should take it off roading too, all part of the fun hehe
Suspect this purchase was fairly wallet-friendly.

Set me back £2.5k, looked at 6 others before choosing this one. Its in really good nick, all the electrics even work!! New MOT, tax till the end of the year, tires good. A good deal all round (IMO).

It will definately be going off roading, thats its main purpose, we live right by Salisbury Plain smile

I'll be looking for a swb 2.8 Pajero in the next 2-3 weeks. Can't wait for the winter and to do some off roading.

Was your insurance much op?

Insurance was a bit high actually. Its got me and the mrs. I'm 29 she's 30. Very good postcode etc. Most of the mainstream insurers wanted 700 quid!! Bearing in mind I only pay £500 for the 330ci in one of the pics.

In the end I got £450 from a specialist off road insurer recommended on the owners club forum. It's a 3000 mile policy but does cover offloading and even breakdown cover. They will only insure if offloading is the primary use and actually wanted it to be modified for this. Not a problem for me as I have 2 other cars but if you wanted it as your only vehicle it would be pricey.
