Anyone else at Goodwood yesterday? What a fantastic circuit to drive. My favourite so far. Boxster S performed brilliantly. Managed to take Fordwater corner at 117 mph and it wasn't even on the limit! Definitely be back there again.

I couldn't get in on a Goodwood track day until the September 15th event!

I've only driven Goodwood once before but I really enjoyed it...

There again IIRC Goodwood takes no prisoners and its advisable to build up to the limit carefully to avoid a low-loader trip home and the whole thing ending in tears...

Great atmosphere though! I'm really looking forward to it.

Any pics/video?

No pics or video. I didn't get my arse into gear and set up the video mount this time. Looking forward to getting the contact prints through the post from the official PCGB photographer though.

117 - not bad at all!

Did the photographer have an email address? If so, could you send it to me?

140+, what's that in?

don't have an email address for the photographer. On previous occassions ive received contact photos automatically, presumably the PCGB pass on addresses or forward for him.

His dreams

I should point out that the Circuit Guide states:

"Flat out for most, it may take a few laps to build up the nerve for this, as the track is quite undulating here."

IIRC its more of a slight kink in the track than a corner - in Melv's track day monster I'd suggest that quite a high speed would be achievable...

John: You've done Castle Combe...what was your terminal velocity prior to braking up Avon Rise for Quarry?

Melv: And yours?

Ahh quarry, I remember going through it backwards at about 80 in a 911- no badger gags however coz at that time I wasnt driving

On the bike I think it was a measly 110-120 or so, but it was ages ago & I can't really remember, it was a scary bit of the track on the bike tho I do remember that bit!

how did you get on with the noise regs. It must have been 'a noisy day' .

Anyone go faster then 1min.32sec?? spectator timing of course.

Don something between 110 and 120 I think, but can't be sure as it was a while ago, and I didn't seem to find the time to look at the speedo back in those days! I do remember that the PSM cut in quite a few times under braking for that corner though.

120 upto Avon in a standard 968CS. Lapped it around 1.29 in the dry and 1.42 in the wet but that was on my digital clocks stopwatch function so could be a tenth or two out allowing for passenger delay

Question for me?

100db day, just scraped it with 99.somat at 3/4 of max so I gave it 7k with max being 12k.

Only bike allowed on track that day with a race exhaust....result
