460 lb torque what clutch?

Hi folks.
After getting engine rebuilt think my upgraded clutch is not up to the job.
Might have to go for paddle or multi plate clutch.
Anyone done upgrade for 2.5 or are the 3.0 the same clutch.

which uprated clutch do you have ? is it the helix ?

the stronger the pressure plate the higher the torque load

a paddle will cope with the higher power and not shred like a conventional material will

Yep, had the helix one which i thought they said would be ok,how wrong were they.
That was from Mardigra.
Have i got any other obtions with this level of power.

I also had one of these from Mardi gras but had to remove and go up to the 6 paddle ceramettalic from Jetstream guys.

Graham,what sort of torque can they handle,whats the drive like.

I can't comment yet on the driving, will post up when it's all going again, I believe it's meant to handle in the region of 550lbft but I'm sure others on here will have more accurate info, does anyone know if Trevor has found the limits of one of these? Graham

The drive no different to your one, however they are a little noiseier on change down if you don't match the revs.
Clutch is different but think the paddle might be the same for both so just case of replacing that... Around 250 from memory.

Copes with over 530ftlb in quite a few of our cars and we do drive hard so should be fine in yours.
My triple plate will probably fit your car, but requires new flywheel so much more expensive... It's a lot lighter and faster acting than even the STD clutch and can take 650ftlb so worth it if running serious torque.
