That is such a STRANGE question, I thought I'd reply.

We never ever close any of our curtains here, as we are not overlooked (we live in a forest ... in fact most of our windows don't even have curtains), but when we have guests 'on hols' here, they ALWAYS close the curtains. It's a city thing methinks.... they can't break the habit.

Closed curtains simply state "we're away, help yourself" to potential burglars.Leave them open and put a couple of lamps on timers in the house.

Difficult question.

Closed during the day looks out of place, open at night looks out of place - when do you think opportunist thieves are on the prowl?

I was slightly worrying about it when we went on Hols last month, but it was Ok because the OH packed every single item we have ever owned into the car anyway.

Closed curtains.
It's not that strange, when it's really hot I keep the curtains closed to stop the sun damage.
Open curtains when it's dark would draw more attention to it being empty.

We have shutters (old Georgian pile), which normally end up getting half-closed.

A bit like we might be here, we might not, are you feeling lucky punk?
