Has anyone put these SP alloys on your Tuscan S, these are 8" fronts the spiders are 8.5"
At the moment I have spiders with 255/35 allround but with the SP will need to run 225, also the offset is different ET33. Will this make a difference?

I wrote something up for car club on them. The offset on the sp12 is actually the right one, the 18" spiders run with the wrong offset to keep them within the body.

The spacers that people fit are to overcome this.

255's all round must make for interesting handling, the best setup seems to be with 225/235 fronts and 255 rears.

255/35 all round is one of the recommended options.....along with 235/40 or 225/40 on the front. It's all about the profile height, not the width.

I disagree the width has a massive impact on turn in and associated handling. I thought the consensus was that slkinny tyres on the front was now regarded as the ideal. The tyre profile is important in terms of compliance, deformation on turn in and ride quality.

All personal choice, but I haven't suffered much understeer or lack of control atnthe front end.

What some folk like to do though is make the mistake of running 225/35's on the front. Not only is the tyre too narrow for the rim, but as the profile is so low it also screws up the scrub radius (which the Tuscan is very sensitive to) so giving scary handling. This is why it's actually the profile height that you need to watch more than the actual width.

Therefore, 255/35, 235/40, 225/40's on the front, which all have a profile heights around 90mm will all yield good results.

Having run both 235/40 on the front, and 255/35's all round (as per original Tuscan S specs), I can't honestly tell the difference in how the car feels. I stuck with 255's all round though as a bit more rubber on the road is never a bad thing.

Agreed but bigger isn't always better Dave!

I like the 235x40's, I think a lot depends on the brand of tyre used.
