How do you deal with that horrible feeling that you've bought (or is it brought I never know) the wrong car?

I suspect it's normal to spend time looking at other cars and wishing you had XYZ but there's a point when you find yourself wondering a little too much if you should change despite all the common sense stuff like losing a packet on what you've only had a few months.

fking cars biggrin

I refuse to buy a car unless I know I can turn a profit on it. I tend not to keep them long anyway, a couple of weeks, maybe a couple of months if it's nice to drive. And no, I'm not a trader, I just like to experience all that the 4 wheeled world has to offer smile

Get rid of it, you'll never ditch that feeling. I bought a Golf 2.0 FSI, hated it and sold it three weeks later, similarly I bought an Aygo and sold it after four months. Obviously I wished I hadn't bought either and I'd have saved myself a lot of money, once that feeling sets in it's only a matter of time.

I once owned an Alfa GTV for eight weeks. I`d wanted one for ages and saw a nice Twinspark Lusso locally and bought it.

All was fine for around a month and then the things I`d put down as character really started to annoy me. Yes, I lost quite a packet on that car but I had to get shot of it. I replaced it with a Corrado and loved it.

Bought is the past tense of Buy.
Brought is the past tense of Bring.

So you brought home the new car, which you bought with cash.

It's a nightmare, I'm currently working through 2 years of V5s and random SORNs but I'm getting there lol.

Why do people get this mixed up? I genuinely don't understand where the confusion comes from.

Perfect, I shall remember that (bRing vs. buy). Thank you.

Yep. I actually like it a lot, and it does things well, it's not a case of "bought a crap car" that's not the issue. I'm not sure how to explain it, I guess it's just a little "soulless" for lack of a better word.

Same here. It baffles me that people get confused by this.

Getting back to the OP's point though, yes, it does happen. I bought a car which I sold seven weeks later after pining for its predecessor and finding its shortcomings too much.

If you can afford to change it for something else, then you'll be much happier driving something you like.

I got it when the Cerbera started streaming oil all over the driveway after a few hours of ownership. That horrible, sinking feeling of "what have I done?" It soon disappeared mind, and now I'm buzzing with adrenalin.

That's fantastic, thank you!

Being dyslexic I always have problems with homophones.

Freelander? Trust me, get rid. "Ball of dung" would be the correct way to describe it.

If you don't like it then get rid. No point hating the car you have to drive if you can change it and enjoy what you are driving.
