Sky stealing phone line...

Sorry to ask but got very angry with sky help!

Everthing was unplugged for new carpets to go down, everything plugged back in exactly how it was.

House phone into master phone socket, sky and router into wired extension. When sky unplugged everthing works, when sky plugged in phone gets engaged tone from external calls - but sky box says its disconnected(router still works).

I know you dont need the phone line for it to work but I want to watch a film on box office!

May not be relevant, but have you got adsl filters on all your extensions ?

Also if you have a spare corded phone, plug that in to the sky point and see if you get the same problem. If yes- cable fault, if no- sky box or its connect fault.

Could well have been damaged when unpluged, its common for people to pull the wire instead of pulling the plug. Could also be a faulty modem in the Sky box, those boxes just hate being unplugged.

Thanks for the help, i left it all plugged in but turned off at the wall overnight and now all is fine!
