Alarm Problems
Discussion
Hi all,
Long time since post, job, working away etc, Sons should have started car on regular basis but hav,nt.
Battery completely dead, used large starter unit, pet pump is o.k. all elec working but will not start,
Local garage, very good friend, towed car into work shop, ready for service all was o.k but without charger on nothing, he put leads onto battery inside, not using my anderson under bonnet leads, soon as connected all hell let loose alarms lights, full monty, green light flashing on fob but alarm will not cancel, only when power is removed does alarm go silent, this has happened before, i just got into car closed all doors, windows, put key into ignition turn on alarm waited a few seconds then turned off opened doors got out re- alarmed car turned off again got in turned ignition on started first time, could alarm battery need replacing or am i missing something during the initial alarming, if cannot fix i may have to disconnect alarm, replace with new, expensive.
Please advise.

Hi, you need to disconnect the main battery again for about 10 seconds and then reconnect smartly.
When the battery goes flat the alarm can do all sorts of weired stuff including not disarming properly to not responding to the key fob.
Be ready with the key fob to disarm the alarm when the battery is reconnected as it will be in the armed state.
Good luck.
Paul.

Paul,
All sorted, car after all attempts to start would not, done all as said, then penny dropped at 6:30 tonight phoned better half for 2nd key, still would not start, went through process again, brilliant the wonderful sound of a TVR firing up all 8 cylinders
dead battery in first fob what a bummer.
Will be all sorted for next weekend, have a week end break organised in August for my wife and I, Hexham a small hotel on outskirts, TVR country good roads open country side, just hope weather holds.
I hav,nt located the immobiliser yet, mine is a Gifford, tried phoning installers today dead line, looks like they have closed mind you my car is a 1994 so a lot of companies have closed since then, I will have a good look about if no joy will contact Paul Baker he will know hopefully. Cheers Bud.
Regards,
Kenhind
