Worthwhile upgrade or chavvy add on?

<you> decide.

I had other bits replaced at the same time but my gut feeling was they took the spongy feel from the brake action and raised my confidence on the track. Trusting to 16 year old rubber pipes was always a bit optimistic.
So, yes, worthwhile.

I`ve got them on my bike and they certainly improved the feel, will be doing the cars when they are next serviced.

Fitted them to my Scoob at the same time as upgraded discs/pads/fluid so hard to say how much difference was solely down to the hoses, much improved pedal feel overall though.

It clearly shows you know little about cars if you think braided hoses are a 'chavy add on'. They are safer because the over braid protects the rubber and they give a rock solid pedal because the rubber is stopped from expanding by the over braid. Quite how one could think they are a 'chavy addon' I do not understand, they are not even visible without the car jacked up. I strongly suggest you get a garage to carry out the work if you are thinking of having them fitted judging by the knowledge you have displayed.

Lankilybuild, why does someone asking opinions about something stop them bring able to fit it?

I wasn't sure if I want to fit poly bushes to my car or not, so asked the masses for opinions, does this mean I wasn't capable of fitting them?

Lankilybuild> you are a bit if a dick aren't you?

Ever since I've been into cars braided hoses have been somewhat of a contentious issue, some people swearing by them, some not.

Thanks to those who gave taken the time so far to give a positive reply, it's helping for July to become an even more expensive month for me!

Cured my motorbike brake problem, haven't had a car with hoses that needed replaced yet.

Very worthwhile in my opinion they made a massive difference to my bike and my car (MGB).

I am going to report you for your language. There is nothing contentious about braided hoses, the principle is sound, theres no argument about their effectiveness.

Transformed the feel on my MGB when I was using it as a daily drive, replaced everything and lost the servo as well (it was a later addition), made the world of difference. Insurance never had a problem with it either.

So, yes, do it smile

Definatly worth it, and there not that expensive. A great mod for most road cars is a bit of a brake upgrade, with better pads and hoses.

"Uummmm I'm telling".

Stop being a big girl and learn to take it like you give it: your input was essentially a dig at the OP.

School's out for summer?

Anyway, braided hoses do make a difference. How much of a difference depends on how old your hoses and brake fluid was before you started, though wink

Check what hoses are on the car.
They make no difference on a Honda S2000, stock hoses are reinforced and very good.

Worth while doing if you're going to twin them with more aggressive pads, discs and fluid.

I don't think you could really notice the difference but will complete an upgrade which may aswell be done whilst working on the brakes.

You will notice the difference without other upgrades. You get a much firmer pedal than with rubber hoses.

I didn't with Helix hoses on a Redtop Nova project I did. Minimal difference when really braking heavily but as said will complete a braking upgrade package.
