What's the small cylindrical thing connected to the + of the alternator and bolted to the block? What does it do? Do I need it etc..
Thanks
Rob

It looks like a suppressor to stop noise on the radio.

Thought my recent experience might be of interest / help!
Aerial mounting rusted through on my Taimar recently so chopped the cable off at aerial.
Still get a good signal from the aerial cable (approx 6ft long), ignition interference on AM (no suppressor) but FM is perfectly clear signal.
So I have bought a rubber grommet to seal up the aerial hole in nsr wing....happy days.
