alloy rad question

I have been pricing up for a recore £230 +vat against a new aluminium rad about £400, but have been advised by the company that the alloy is very fragile and can be damaged beyond repair by as little as a stone chip any opinions would be very helpful.

Talk to Tim at ACT. I've been very happy with my Radtec one. You'll notice an improveemnt in running temp, and they look great!

The rad shown on the ACT website is an s3/V8 rad with 'top hat' fittings, the S2 and I guess the S1 radiators fit differently as the fan is on the engine side of the rad - sucking - S3 and later on the other side - blowing. make sure the sockets for the earlier type of support is part of the radiator
