Nurburgring Insurance.

I know the 'ring and insurance is a topic that has been done to death, not being covered by standard insurance etc. Luckily I'm not here to conduct a topic resurrection!

But was more simply wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a reputable track day/'ring insurer?

Also a rough idea of how much insurance covering all eventualities and mis-haps that could happen on the 'ring would cost? Would be brilliant!

Also is there anywhere that will do half a day or even a matter of hours to keep the costs down as I only want to do a couple of laps.

For a TF, your best bet is to hope your regular insurance smallprint doesn't exclude the 'ring (or public tollroads as it is sometimes phrased). For trackdays I use http://www.moris.co.uk/ , prices are good but no idea about their service as I've never had to claim.

FWIW a cop at Adenau station once told me that no-one really has valid insurance for the 'ring anyway "no-one can claim that they are using the Nordschleife for anything other than fun, and this will not be covered by your insurance"...

Have (safe) fun

Its a TF day, I just want a couple of laps really so the car can loose its 'ring virginity and I can get my first taster of the track.

I've been told to treat the ring like a B road, i.e keep to the right, let faster cars through in plenty of time, keep an eye on all mirrors and only drive into what you can see is clear.

Even though I only want to do a couple of laps just to say I've been and driven it, I'm still very worried about being collected in someones accident or coming off myself, as we all know accidents do happen even when we try and prevent them.

I take it there aren't probably any companies that would be able to a accomodate my sorts of needs, i.e only a short time of coverage, but the re assurance that if something does go wrong I wont be left with a duff new car and big bill from Nurburgring GmbH... any ideas?

FWIW, I've looked at track rentals rent4ring etc, would be more than happy to do that, but most aren't available to me due to my age with most being 25+
