Barcelona - street shots/candids (feedback welcome)

Recently returned from a holiday over in sunny sunny Spain. Have a mate out there living in Barcelona. He did a 'Teaching English as a Foreign Language' course with a view to staying in Barca for the next couple of years. As such, it was the perfect opportunity for a cheap(ish) holiday staying with him and his 3 flat mates (all girls!).

Been to Barca before a couple of years back and did all the tourist stuff. This was a much more relaxed affair and now hanging around with the 'locals' one could be sure of good food, good drink and great nights out.

Here are some street shots in and around Barca. As ever, gone for that candid feel, typically taken with the 70-200L (non IS). Processed in Lightroom.

Sure it's just coincidence but the ones that feature couples strike me as stronger than the ones of individuals. Not to say the individual images are poor though, more that I can see little niggles in a few of the early ones.

Too many to critique individually but things I remember like the accordian player maybe needed to be positioned in front of the lighter background; and had the football been fractionally higher to appear more obvious.

The moments themselves though are generally well thought through and the processing suits them. All IMHO.

Agree, that series of shots goes together nicely.

I suppose with candids, it is luck of thre draw. Snap away, sometimes the shots come out well (lack of noise in background, things in the right places), sometimes they don't. Always liked this kind of photography as it gives you a great feel for the kind of place you are in rather than standard tourist snaps.
