Hi All,

I've just moved into the Newmarket area all the way from Liverpool, and am looking for a new garage to take care of my GDB Impreza STi.

It needs some work carried out fairly immediately, so I'm looking for somewhere relatively close by - does anyone have any recommendations, or know of places that should be avoided by the plague...?

I look forward to seeing some of you out on a PH run sometime soon smile

Cheers,

Andy

Hi,

I'm in Newmarket a couple of times a week normally I'll keep my eye out for you. Only garage I know that a mate of mine uses for his evo and swears by them is http://www.trracing.co.uk specialise in skylines really but all japanese cars catered for as far as I am aware might be worth a phone call.

Cheers
Gareth

Hello

What do you need doing?

There aren't many "local" places that do Subarus

The main dealer in Bury is EMG but there is also one in Great Shelford (near Cambridge)called Welches http://www.subaruspecialists.co.uk/
Neither are cheap but Welches have more experience.

As for Independants there is Mocom near Halstead http://www.mocomracing.com
Not much else I'm afraid.

I'd recommend Gary at Suffolk Motors 01638 662087 as the owners have dedicated track day cars and if they can't help they will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys smile

TRracing haven't responded to me which is disappointing, so I guess I'll try some of the others.

@markCSC, one of the engine sensor warning lights came on briefly the other day, and it's using a lot more fuel lately, so I just want to get it generally checked out and make sure it's all ok.

Hello

Sounds like an O2 sensor

Most garages should be able to hook the car up to an OBDII reader to get the fault code stored.

List of the codes can be found here

http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/S...

One other place to try that know Subaru engines are TSR Racing. They are based in Exning and stick them in VW bettles.

Hoep that helps

Thanks for all the replies guys, big thanks to Mocom Racing for looking at the car at very short notice for me.

@essexgt4 - Off to see TCS on Tuesday to look at a potential sticky brake calliper, hope they're as good as you say smile

Glad you got it sorted, what was the problem in the end?

Oh and if you see a silver Subaru Forester with black wheels in Newmarket, give me a wave biggrin

Nothing, so far as we could ascertain - there was no history in the logs of the sensor warning light ever coming on. We reset the ECU and made sure everything was running properly and I was on my way again...

I'll keep an eye out - mine's a Black blob eye if you spot me smile

Don't know it TR Racing are still going.

Tweenie Rob who run the place died last year in a tragic accident and the co-owner was seriously hurt.

RIP Rob.
