So apart from the obvious silverstone what other UK tracks have been featured in racing games?

I was wondering if the one on Anglesy (Ty croes) has ever been developed for a game? Even if it is a 3rd party add on?

I think it was Knockhill in Dirt1,My favourite was in TOCA3 they had Castle Combe in it,and the early TOCA series had most UK tracks (Croft,Thruxton/Knockhill) spring to mind.Shift 2 has Brands and Silverstone.

Grid has Donnington.

GTR Evo, you can get most tracks, custom made by modders (I learnt oulton from this, biggrin )
Same goes for rFactor.

Stating the obvious. TOCA and TOCA 2 had most of them.

Used to love hammering around the tracks on there. Sounded like real supertourering cars aswell.

TOCA was awesome, single seaters around Oulton Park was brilliant, there needs to be another game like that!

Rfactor leads the way in this by far. The f1 teams use Rfactor Pro in their simulators and almost any track in the uk is available if you search hard enough. Off the top of my head there is the following:

Pembrey,
Knockhill,
Thruxton (beta)
Brands Hatch,
Castle Combe,
Bedford,
Oulton Park,
Silverstone (2011 config)
Snetterton (pre changes)
Donnington (2011 config)
Croft
Goodwood
Cadwell Park
Mallory Park
Rockingham
Mondello Park

Plus multiple old and classic circuit configurations including crystal palace, aintree etc.

though no Anglesey sadly as far as i know yet, though one is in development i think

  • EDIT**
Anglesey is available for GTR2 on nogripracing.com Don't have or havn't played gtr2 so cannot comment on its accuracy or what mods are available for it.

I often wonder if there is a market to re-release games like the original TOCA series but with up to date graphics and handling.Given a lot of gamers remember these games fondly i reckon it would be worth codemasters doing.Oh the S40 BTCC car around Thruxton fond memories.

yes TOCA with all the old greats but HD visuals and proper handling and damage models, proper race weekend layouts with practice and qualifying and tyre management? Sold in a heartbeat!

rFactor has almost all the tracks you could look for, check out the download lists here. Very good racing simulator, that is. Oh how I would love to combine GT5's visuals and cars with rFactor's immersive proper racing.

What we need is Codemasters to produce an up to date BTCC racing game, with all the current tracks featured. How can we go about persuading them that such a game is needed?

That would be very good.

I don't know how we can persuade them to do it though.
Maybe if enough people start asking?

Toca & Toca2 were great games and the AI on the hardest setting gave you a really good race.

Knockhill in the first Touring Car on the first Playstation was the bollx.

Couple of beers, the ever so quick Laguna and Touring Car. Them were the days!
