Alphas is an action-packed thriller from writers Zak Penn (The Avengers, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Karnow. Five ordinary people are brought together to form one extraordinary team of Alphas -- people with the unique power to stretch the capabilities of the human mind giving them superhuman physical and mental abilities. Operating within the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn), an expert in Alpha phenomena, the team investigates cases that point to others with Alpha abilities. As they work against the clock to solve this

I <cough> acquired </cough> the episodes over the summer but never got round to watching them and ended up deleting them.

Just checked and SciFy, the makers, have renewed the show for another season so will tune in tonight.

I'm slightly worried that every week the answer will be "the baddie had a superpower that let them do it" and which was either impossible or too easy to see coming. A fine line to tread to make it work.

But we'll give it a go... at least until Misfits comes back wink

I've got a superhub (50mb wired connection, 10 meg everywhere else - what else is it good for?) so I've seen some of the alphas series and thought it was quite good. The guy that plays gary does well to pull that off convincingly.

Saw the first 4 episodes, reckon it looked pretty good. Definitely leagues ahead of Terra Nova and Falling Skies, but then a steaming pile of poop is better to watch than those two abortions.

I just wondering if this should be plussed, got the email from sky. I'll plus it, I really got into No Ordinary Family.

Boring, boring, boring.

And rubbish.

It's not a "clasic locked room mystery" when there's a vent in the room. And I don't believe it takes superpowers to see where he was hit and look back along where it might have come from (and only one option). Then it got worse.
