What's the biggest battery I can fit in my Peugeot 306 1.4 ?

I have a sub and amp to power and my battery keeps going flat so I need a bigger one with more capacity

Get the battery they spec for the diesel version. An 027 it looks like.

Sounds like your amp is drawing current when the ignition is off, have you got it wired up to the HU correctly?

An amp on its own wont drain the battery

If it's to power amps you may be better off looking at upgrading your alternator. If one amp is enough to flatten your current battery then I would say either the original battery or alternator may be at fault anyway; if it's more than one amp then a second battery would be a better option.

Although.. I believe if you get a bigger battery the alternator would be too small to charge properly it so it makes no difference really.

I'm going to take a guess here - you mean it's flattening it when you're playing music while parked up, don't you?

In which case, the best way to resolve that would be a second dedicated battery for your mad choonz, so at least when you leave McDonalds your car will start.

The clientèle here aren't particularly responsive to stereo upgrades

Just get a new battery. Back in the day when I had an amp and sub I could leave my on full volume for 2hours and the car would start with no problems... Don't ask why it was ever on full volume for 2hours with the car turned off...

Wouldnt you be better with a second battery in the boot or perhaps just some normal speakers that dont need that much juice, I mean come on a bit of Bass is ok but nobody needs a raft of subwoofers in a car. Each to their own but though I love music and I like it loud I dont get the SPL thing or "Installs", seems to me more about letting other people hear it than listening to it yourself, kind of a way of getting noticed.

Sounds like it is not turning off when you turn the engine off if its going flat overnight.

Check the install if it wasn't a professional job.

As it turns out a surprisingly modest system can overcome a standard alternator. Look for a bigger one - if there's an ICE scene for your car someone is bound to have come across this problem and sourced a better unit. Tim Westwood had such a powerful stereo fitted to his Impala that if he turned it up to full volume it would stall.
