Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011 - ITV4 @8pm 12th July

Heads up for those of you (like me) who have yet to see any coverage of this year's Goodwood FoS.

ITV4 is rapidly becoming a favourite channel of mine. Quantum leap followed by Tour de France followed by Goodwood Fos - cracking telly!

The Sky effort was truly hopeless. Huewen gleefully telling us that the noise we could hear was cars going up the hill when we could clearly see bikes in the background was priceless.

The tv show was utter ste.

TV coverage of the festival has never been that good - especially anything put together by ITV. FAR better are the official DVDs put together by the GRRC. I have quite a few of them going back over the years although none from more recent years. The ones I have were presented by Alan DeCadanet and Doug Nye and are very much focussed on the cars, drivers and history rather than celebs or other nonsense.

I thought the programme was a good representation of the festival - though they did 'big up' the timed laps.

For those who missed it, it is repeated on Sunday 17th July on ITV1 London HD from 3:10am to 4:00am.
