I'm getting static noise from the right channel of my hi-fi. Where do I start?

Swap the left and right hand speaker connections at the amp. If the noise still on the same side it is either speaker or cable to the speaker. If it's not at the output see if you do similar left/right swaps on the input.

Traced this to my Cyrus DAC, problem on all outputs. Does anyonenknow anything about this, and whether it's a tricky fix?
