New to me Lotus Elise S2 111S
Discussion
Picked this up two weeks ago in a huge thunderstorm. Drove home in pouring rain, messed about with the blower controls and misted up all the windows.
Taken it out a few times for a blat, but conscious of the fact its a lot quicker than anything I have had before. I was going to say more powerful but my BMW E30 has more power but heavier.
These are the pictures from the advert.

Day I picked it up. The colour is not so bright in the flesh.

I know I am going to get some stick for this but I have no intention of taking the roof off, I don't like wind in my hair, open top motoring. I wanted a hard top sports car but the options open to me were not in my budget, Noble M12, TVR T350, Ginetta G40 (if they ever release it).

Nice looking example, hope you enjoy it!
To be honest, the Elise's roof is effectively just a glorified sunroof - they're more of a targa than a full convertible.

I'm with you - I've had about half a dozen convertibles over the years but only because there either was no coupe version or I couldn't justify the additional cost for a coupe. I hardly ever bothered to put the roof down on any of them!To be honest, the Elise's roof is effectively just a glorified sunroof - they're more of a targa than a full convertible.

I know what you mean, I used to have a TVR S1. I could have counted on one hand the times I took the roof off in a year.
Looks great. I don't love open top motoring either, save one occasion; late nights, post 10:30pm time. When the roads are empty and quiet and you can really hear the engine and the exhaust working, it's bloody great. I'd imagine it would benefit well from an exhaust upgrade because I've never heard a factory standard Elise that had a great exhaust note. Other than that, it looks cool. The hard top looks great and the colour is a good one too.
Enjoy it!
Enjoy it!
