What car?

Short term car for 2 to 3 months ownership in which 4 to 5 k will be piled on.

Been looking at economical diesel that will be comfy for long distance work.
Only want to spend around 1k and must be easy to sell again after.

Thought of the following.
Volvo s40 diesel
Pug 406 hdi
xantia hdi
Saab 93 2.2 tid
Mondeo 1.8d

Any other suggestions, yays or nays?

Also, is a car of this price likely to go bang with a large mileage in a short time ? I think I guess the volvo or saab is likely to be better in that aspect of things over the Citroën and pug.

Another possibility is the Rover 45 2.0 diesel, seems to be reliable from reports.

Yes, i have, but they're all sooo boring, high mileage, high priced, and dull.

Ok, yes, some of the other suggestions aren't exciting either but at least they're more interesting!

the cars in your opening post aren't exactly "thrilling"

it read to me like you wanted something cheap and dependable



you want thrills for £1k....buy a motorbike
or coke and hookers
