Power steering Glitch

Just went to get the car out for a quick blast and the steering was really heavy. On the go it is fine, just every now and then it is heavy. Haven't taken the bonnet off yet, but the level is fine. Dodgy pump? Belt? Was fine yesterday.

Also need to check the alternator at sometime.

probably the belt slipping a bit

had that after my rebuild. would have almost no power steering effect moving out of garage but fine on the go. its a bit of a pig to get the tension right because the leverage that can be applied by the pump is not good. I ended up tightening the pinch bolt most of the way and driving the pump into tension using a rubber mallet and a wooden drift. then lock the bolts. took a couple of goes to get it right.
