DB ona decatted cerb?

Hi, im booked into Combe next Friday and wanted to know peoples experience of sound levels on a de catted 4.2

I can get the silencers if I need them from Merlin, but its a 100db day and im guessing im going to be over that!

My old decatted 4.5 measured 123dB and 109 with the trackday silencers fitted! Never had a problem though for some reason, i didnt even use the silencers at the Ring.

103 with ACT exhaust and silencers.Thats on a 4.5 if that makes a difference.

Don't know about decibels as such, but my decatted 4.2 with standard exhaust doesn't seem much louder than with the cats in.

4.5 with ACT big bore system. About 109 without silencers. Goodwood last year 105 with ACT silencers. Goodwood 3 weeks ago with same silencers 100 (mind, just about every car that got tested was also 100, so I think their equipment might have been up the 'swanny' )

My 4.2 is de-catted with a 4.5 backbox and I just scrape in on 105dB days.

Linked decat and sports exhaust on my 4.2 was around 128 - 131 depending on whose meter you used. Now down to around 102 - 104 for sprinting with linked decats and standard back box.

Good luck getting down to 100!!!!!

116db with sports rears and no cats, 106 with cats. ACT trackday cans drop you around 8-10db.

If you're local I've a couple of sets I could lend you to save your money.

OK, had a lovely time on Friday running around in circles at Combe with no problems on the sound at all.

For the record, I must have the quiestest Cerbera in the world at 96DB! I had all the boys at Topcats taking the pi55 out of my "girly spec" car.

Having said that it was quick as you like, even my wife enjoyed her 15 or so laps driving it! Cant say I shared her enthusiasm instructing her from the passenger seat!

Sounds as though you had a good time at Combe, I almost came up but spent to long cleaning the Tam & Cerb

My Speed 6 was measured at c. 123db last year!
