Quick question-

Is it safe to stick a 5L can of V-Power on the floor of the Chimaera boot?

This is directly above the exhaust pipes - does the boot floor get particularly hot on a long run out?

I also have slightly stiffer suspension and bigger rims so I expect it will be rattled around a fair amount if that makes any difference.

Think it will be OK?

If its well wedged in you'll be OK. Wouldn't if any chance of it moving.

Cheers FFG.

Do you know if the boot floor gets really hot from the exhaust? There only seems to be a thin layer of GRP and some carpet between the exhaust and the boot contents.

I carry one all the time, with no problems, wedged on the passenger side.

TBH, never found the boot to get too warm due to exhausts.

IME the boot cavity (dunno about the floor) gets noticably warm, but nowhere near hot.

Surely the fuel tank is effectively in the boot?

Also, remember a fuel can is more dangerous empty than full as it's the vapour which explodes.

Nope. Saggy mess as the weight of the fuel reshaped the tank.

It's the need to put the tank behind the roof as in front the weight pushes the roof up and stops the boot closing.

Maybe Chims have a larger boot? Or aren't driven as fast so the exhaust doesn't get that hot wink
