Bloody Bollards on A30 in Bagshot

Has anyone noticed the new bollards put up just before you get to the traffic lights by the M&S garage in Bagshot? You used to be able to get past the old duffers with ease, now you have a third of the time to do it, must make it more dangerous now?

Ruined a decent bit of road just for some new housing access.
Supprised another set of lights did not appear - wkers

anyone else remember when the A30 from staines to camberley was an uninterrupted 3 lane (middle suicide lane) road, bar the level crossing and a couple of sets of lights?

I remember, I lived in Virginia Water from 1960 then only moved a few miles away in 1975

suicide lanes, the A30 used to be full of them. Can't imagine why they removed them.

I only know of one now - on the A31 between Alresford and Winchester. Shame really as they can be quite useful.

If you're feeling nostalgic about them you could always try the A303.

The feckers did this on the A30 towards Basingstoke. Unless there are lots of accidents on them (don't think there are), what is the point of blocking lanes???

Slightly out of area but, regarding nostalgia, my favourite "suicide lane" was the Colnbrook bypass between Heathrow and Langley. How I survived in my Mark 3 Cortina, Red since you ask, I don't know ;-) ............. Not the Nine O'Clock News did a brilliant sketch "I like trucking" must go and search for it............
