After speaking to Dom and others on here, Im going to swap the oil out with thicker stuff to see if it helps.

What is the best oil to use and approx quantity? Also can I get the filter from ualfrauds?

5w-40 Mobil super 3000 (£38 delivered from flee bay for a 5 litre tub) works for me. I did not have the smoke issue but I now use less oil than when running 0w-40. Don't know about the filter but they are not expensive from any TVR dealer.

8 litres used on my last service

Its more about getting the bits before the weekend :-)

Dom suggested 10 40? Others say 15 40 or more?

Call TVR Power in the morning. Everything I order from them arrives the next morning.

I will try and let you know which other cars use it later today if not definately tomorrow. I have been looking into this recently.

I'm using 10/40 shell helix in mine. Recommended by my mechanic and a few other service centres as well.

The nearest cars I can get to the speed 6 oil filter are Peugeot:-
504 Coupé, Cabriolet V6 100/106KW(136/144PS/HP)
505 TI, STI 81/86KW(110/117PS/HP)
604 SL 100KW(136PS/HP)
604 TI, STI, GTI 106/114KW(144/155PS/HP)

The oil filter for these are 11mm longer but should fit (not tried it myself).

The only engines I can find that fit exactly are Lister petter diesel Engines !!!

As for oil you should use 10w 40w semi synthetic

Was there a thread about the RV8 filter being better as it has a bigger capacity and doesn't bypass at high RPM, I might be wrong and I'll try to check so don't burn me.

The filter is from a Ford Cosworth YB or Ford CVH (turbo) The Fram items are very good and dirt cheap but many good brands out there and easy to obtain but you need the stumpiness to clear the airbox inlet tube.
