I am looking into booking an all inclusive type chill out holiday for this August.

I have never been on this type of holiday before so am looking for suggestions on location. Having had a quick browse of various travel websites it looks like some Caribbean locations suffer from high rain fall at this time of year. Could people that have been there at this time of year please let me know if this can go on all day, or is it jut a case of a regular storm at lunchtime when you can get in doors for an hour or so.

We're looking for 1 week all inclusive in a nice resort with plenty of restaurants/bars and pools etc.

All recommendations gratefully received.

IMO the Caribbean is too far to go for a week, I’ve been in August and see one heavy shower but it was over in about 30 mins and the sun back out.

Anywhere closer is going to be hot at that time of year, Egypt is still good value, Morocco and my mate raves about Turkey and has went to the same place once every year for the past 3. Flight is cheaper than to the Caribbean so you have more £’s to spend on accommodation. I’ll try to find the name of the place he goes to in Turkey it’s ultra all inclusive so you get branded spirits and beers rather than the local stuff plus a la carte meals rather than buffet.

What’s your budget?

Thanks, that would be great.

I haven't given the budget much thought to be honest. The package deals I have been looking at on-line come in at between £700 and £1500 per person. I guess we'd be looking somewhere in that bracket.

We tried all-inclusive in the Caribbean a few years back. The thing that spoiled it for us and the reason we'd never do it again was the Americans. We're not really big eaters and don't actually want to be pissed from dawn to dusk. So, it seemed we were subsidising hundreds of loud, obese, gluttonous, drunken Yanks every day.

Just our experience.

I'd echo the suggestion of Egypt but it can be VERY hot there in August, 40C+ and sun to fry you. Also beware all-inclusive resorts which are increasingly being over-run with Russians.
