How to tell if a 996 mk1 GT3 is a genuine Club Sport?

Not a fan of the colour, but there can't have been many New Zealand-new GT3 Club Sports:

How does one tell that it's a genuine CS?

Mk1 CS should have nomex buckets, not leather though maybe they have been re-covered.

Should also have elec cutout switch in front of gearlever but I can't see pic of that area in this car.

Will also have been delivered with a fire extinguisher, though this may not have been mounted in the car.

Originally the CS will have had a rattle single mass flywheel fitted as well.

There should also be an external battery isolator in the form of a pull under the trailing edge of the bonnet.

Can't see why anyone would swap out Clubsport spec Nomex seats for leather, so needs to be investigated further. Best check all the points mentioned and the build options list to be certain.

Should have a black steel (not Tequipment) roll cage fitted in the rear (front should be available but often not fitted)

Clubsport package was just an option with an option code for it.
The code would be on the sticker under the bonnet and/or in the service manual. Just check for the option code with the dealer.

I have an original 996 GT3 Mk 2 brochure, but at home, one would assume the option code stayed the same across Mk1/Mk2.

Carpet and foam in the front of a clubsport is already factory precut for front roll bars section. In every comfort i have ever seen updated to clubsport spec no matter how well done it always looks a mess as you cannot replicate the pre cut Styrofoam. I have yet to see anyone fully re trim to the shell a confort to rep a clubsport but I guess that does not mean its not possible I just have not yet seen it.

However on the car in your link it has a tecequipment cage so is probably a comfort

In the final test Porsche will tell you from the Vin what the original spec was

The Clubsport version comes with a bolt-in roll cage, fire extinguisher, bucket seats in fire retardent material (not leather) and single mass flywheel (notice the noise when depressing the clutch whilst stationary).

Emergency cut-off switches, one under the bonnet and one in front of the gear lever. These are for track use only and the external red pull loop is normally stored under the luggage compartment lid.

Rare cars - Only 28 rhd 996 Mk1 GT3 clubsports imported by Porsche GB which coincidently is exactly how many 997 GT3 RS 4.0 are coming to the UK.

I'm not actually after one, just surprised to see so many GT3s on the market in NZ. Something to think about if I ever move home. Take the yellow one or sell it and get a local beast? Hmmm.

That is indeed impressive - and is like looking at the underside of one of Bill Stein's air-cooled cars. The carpet's grubby in the next shot though...

Hi. I have seen a thread with overall numbers of RHD cars and the total number of CS spec cars that were imported. Does anyone know the number of RHD CSs still on the road? I number seem to have been in heavy accidents or written off but I suspect they will start making their way back on to the road soon.

Slippydiff did a MK1 CS roll call about 12 months ago. IIRC circa 18 genuine CS cars were identified as still being in existence.
