End of days for the Cats?

As BIGMIKE says, you should be able to sell them to a scrap metal guy. Cats on some cars can be worth about £150 due to the price of metal. Even heard of people's cats being chopped off by thieves because they're so valuable.
You can buy new ones for about £160 each
As a matter of interest how do you get to the cats. I need to remove the cat parts of my pipes and refit as I have a small blow

i paid a garage to do it! i dont have anywhere i could do this sort of work myself really so took the easy route. i'm told it's definitely a diy job as long as you have access to ramp or pit. There's a pair in the classifieds, not sure what size they are though. I recollect that there were two sizes, one for the big bore and another for the standard exhaust 57mm and 54mm respectively

Might be worth seeing if you can borrow a pair from someone if just for the MOT. You could use mine but it's a bit far.
thanks for the offer but you're right, it's a bit of a stretch! it's difficult enough persuading my wife to get in the tuscan as it is so there's a good chance i'll be refitting the cats relatively soon because of the insane noise i am expecting
. so it's not a bad idea for me to have some on standby anyway... nrick said:
My wife hates the car, said that she would leave me if I bought it, never been in it, never wants to, never driven it, never wants to, Happy days !
really?!! great plan, maybe i should stop trying! Never thought of that - with that strategy i wont have to pootle everywhere because "it's too loud and bumpy..."
