Ok I know games are games and reality is reality but games do have a basis in reality and many are referred to as simulators. That aside I'm wondering if a game has ever made you think "actually I'd like to try that car" or made you think "I really don't fancy xxx as the game really put me off them"

For my I've never been a big fan of imprezas outside of the rally world and always kinda wanted an evo, but gt5 has flipped that on its head, the in game impreza is just so much better to drive. On the otherhand I think the e36 m3 seems like a dog when compared to the e46 m3 but the the fact forza 3 makes the e36 seem the THE ultimate car to drive sideways and control it makes me yearn for one.

Now admitidly most the cars I have drive in game I have little hope of getting in reality but even the mk1 mr2 handles similar in game to real left, obviously in game the cars are always on the limit.

Anyway I was just wondering if a digital version of a car has ever had an effect on what you buy

This'll end up in computer games.

Anyway, not so much "like/dislike", moreoften "aware".
Like NFS II SE had some very rare/prototype metal (Italdesign and the like), which I loved after playing the game.

Oh and the new hot pursuit, love the Reventon and Zonda's in that one cloud9, although I loved them before the game as well.

Wanted an R34 GTR from playing Gran Turismo. (in Bayside Blue, obviously!)

Also like the Pikes Peak Suzuki beast thing that you used to be able to get up to about 1,900bhp in one of the earlier games.

I've always fancied doing a loop-the-loop in a Ferrari if that counts. I lost so many 10ps to that bloody arcade game.

Test Drive? I managed to do the loop the loop first time and never came close again.

My soft spot for the 70's Europa increased after playing GT2- if I was Lotus though I'd be a tad annoyed about the handling of the Elise R in the TG challenge.

Edited to acknowlege ny own lack of knowledge- It was Hard Drivin'

So did I. It rather lost something in the translation I seem to remember. The jelly sweet keys didn't offer quite the control of a arcade machine biggrin
