Was going to suggest this until realised it seems marque-specific. Also, were they trying to nick stuff out of cars (AIUI the signal jammers are used more to get sat-navs & other valuables as opposed to the whole car?) OP would probably have already had stuff taken, surely?
I have parked in many many car parks, the cars are daily drivers. The remotes work perfectly everywhere else. It's not the distance, even with the remotes against the glass they are very difficult to get working in Sainsbury's car parks. I wondered if anyone else had this problem. I seem to remember a similar post some years back about a Scoobies having a problem in certain car parks due to the security system the retailer used.

Had a friend who's Discovery battery was flattened in the local Sainsbury's. Not sure what caused it, but none of the usual suspects like lights left on etc. The AA man said he had been called out for a number of electrical issues on LR's and a couple of other makes in that Sainsburys car park over the previous 3 months, he thought it might be down to interference from the electric door openers or something.

I'm sure I've seen at one or two supermarket some kind of system that jams trolley wheels if they go beyond a certain radius around the store. Is it possible there's such a system around that store and the frequency happens to be similar to your plippers?Cheers for the kind words about the cars BTW. :-)

I just have problems opening and locking my scoob everywhere, I need to be within 3 feet of it for the blipper to work either way and give the button a good press. Typically this means the car gets locked, unlocked several times in sucession until I learn to be patient. Cheers for the kind words about the cars BTW. :-)
No, new batteries doesn't solve the problem.
A few people I've talked to have mentioned interference at supermarket car parks.

I'm not sure of what the issue is but people have suggested that radio frequencies that the public and industires use are becoming congested with all the many different applications such as i-phones, automatic doors, many different new remote alarms for cars, etc, etc.
Another being radio blockers that are used to stop the ever increasing big-brother approach to company cars and the way they monitor their GPS data to see if employees are going off on a slacker, or breaking the speed limit and the like. So employees are then buying radio blockers to stop the GPS and the little black box from picking up signals.
So you are not alone.
