i'm trying to find a self assembly static model of a train

the only trains i can find are resin casts and you just paint them, but i would like to fully build one

does anyone know if there is such a thing avaliable?

What scale/size would you like to do. There are quite a few kits around but the price can rise quite dramatically with the size.

Airfix did quite a range too.

ETA I think DAPOL now produce the Airfix locomotives - I recently built their Crane and it was an excellent kit.
