I bought orange on bracelet and swapped it onto a black strap with orange stitching, it is a great looking watch, I have other watches that are black faced etc so this one is a bit different, anyway, you can swap the bezel to black later if you fall out of love with the orange.

The orange is not Seiko Monster/tango orange either, it is more towards burnt orange and just looks perfect IMVHO.

Go Orange. As has been said, if it dates down the line a black bezel isn't far away.

Orange is too much for your only watch, in particular in the chrono model, it's nice for a change but you soon get tired of it.

As for looking like a plumB, no, you will look like a Jaffa.
I have an Orange one, and if I am honest dont wear it very often, but it does not concern me what others think of me either.

mind you I still post on scoobynet so that's an obvious answer wink

Everyone is different.

I recommend an orange one.

You should try it on. fk looking like every other guy on the Waterloo and City line with a SS Sub/SD/PO with a black bezel. Lovely watches but a tad the norm nowadays. The orange has character, much like you if you choose to buy it.

As I say, not judging as everyone is different. I feel an expensive watch should stand out, not blend in.

I've always thought that an all black smaller cased version is the one to go for, for my wrist at least. A premium watch doesn't have to shout premium in order for it to be heard. smile Just my 2p worth anyway...

Exactly my thoughts, hence why I went for a 42mm in black.

42mm Orange on Orange croc strap..with a little wear/weathering the strap colour washes out and looks far more natural. Love it.

I went for orange and regretted it. I even bought an orange homage to try first. It took about 12 months to regret it. 6 month of homage and 6 months of real thing happiness, but now I dont like it really and have sold it. I found to many people glancing at it, wish I had gone for a black one

Orange may 'stand out' but that is because, frankly, it is gauche and tasteless.

Each to their own, it'd be boring if we all liked the same thing, etc.

I've just bought an Orange Alpha to try for the same reason. Is the colour similar enough to compare?

I was worried it would be a bit too much "look at me".

Don't wear Elton John glasses or a Bay City Rollers costume or an Eddie Jordan shirt, and it'll be fine.

I see ties that are louder than my orange PO, every day. Often on the same person as a "tasteful" Sub or Seamaster.

I think if you want a dress watch, there are better choices than a 42mm+ diver.
