This thread is dedicated those "WTF" moments where stuff happens that just shouldn't or can't. Lets hear them...

For me...

1. On a long motorway commute regardless of how fast your going and how quick your car is, at some point you always get overtaken by a rusty metro going faster than rusty metros can possibly go.

2. No matter which lane I use at the Tyne Tunnel its always ends up being the slowest moving one.

No matter where I go, or what I do, I always end up stuck behind a Honda Jazz.

Gamble Astravans seem to be able to defy the wishes of Vauxhall when it comes to VMax and attain something close to warp speed. How do they do it?

I can drive for miles along a motorway passing matrix signs flashing advisory speed limits and "Queue ahead," warnings and there's no problem. Then, as soon as I pass the one that says, "End," I hit the traffic jam.

Driving standards on the A2 Westbound between Gillingham and Bexley.

One example: driving from my hotel in Gillingham, heading to Erith, there was a smash just after the Black Prince junction. I came to a halt 1 mile from Black Prince at 07:45 a.m.

I managed to double back on myself, to head back to Telford, at 14:10 p.m.

Nearly 6.5 hours to do 1 mile.

It's not as if the A2 is a twisty B-Road with blind junctions ferchristssake. It's 4 lanes wide for the most part. Yet in the three months I drove it (3 days a week) there was a crash every other day!

if i am at a set of lights, roundabout or pretty much any slow moving situation and i am behind a nissan micra the other lane always moves quicker.

Try it next time you are behind a micra this is true about 90ish% of the time.

I know the one, the driver displays amazing alacrity to get in front of you and then proceeds to dawdle, literally amazing skills and reactions to nip out in front of you, then as all their daily mental capacity is used up in one Herculean effort they then slip back into a trance like 40 mph trance, it will be two older ladies in the car, one called Doris and the other Maureen, Maureen, the passenger will, after the brief and unexpected change of pace will look over at Doris who registers that an explanation is required, all she says is "Vtec kicked in, Mo"

If you stop at red traffic lights and decide to look for something in the glovebox

They will immediately turn green (probably not bothering with red/amber either) regardless of how long they were at red smile

On a road that is some dual carriageway, some single, you will inevitably be stuck in a line of slow moving traffic until you get to the dual carriageway bit. No matter how hard you put your foot down, you will always always catch up with the artic that was the cause of the queue, right at the very moment the dual section ends.

Those old biffers who flash someone out of a junction despite there being more than one lane, the other not being empty. Que a near collision with another car or cyclist who didnt telepathically share the intention of allowing the car out of the junction. I see this most days, i can see the potential accident happening so far ahead!

Similarly, no matter where I go, or what I do, I always end up stuck behind a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2.

Yep, this happens to me almost daily when I drive to work, there's a very small stretch of dual carriageway the rest single and I can never quite make it. Even when there's not too many cars about others pull out in front of me to overtake the culprit and do so at such a slow speed there's no time left for me to get past as well.

It's because we've gone into a fuel saving cruise, having burnt most of it blasting the B roads wink

Getting beeped and sworn at because you've slowed down whilst indicating so you can look around a blind corner at a safe speed before turning into a junction.

There seems to be a deeply annoying fashion of late of motorists wacking on the indicator as they turn the wheel to overtake on a motorway regardless of who is passing them at the time.

Happened to me yesterday and nearly lost it after the third time.

And they say white van drivers are the worst! Sheesh.
