Ok, after resetting my tappets with great success(Tappet adjustment), spraying my rocker cover Cooper Green and adding a nice set of Blue Magnecore leads courtsey of ACT, I have hit more problems!!

Firstly I have a huge exhaust leak from the front of the car. Now this requires me checking it out then seeing if I need new manifolds.

The second thing is the suspension. When I push down on the off side the suspension makes a strange gaseous noise and bounces a little. Is this normal? It doesn't do it on the nearside.

The rear as a whole is very soft and I can push it down a good few inches.

Any advice is much appreciated.
Also the front bounces a bit when I push down on it.

The Exhaust leak is probably a manifold gasket leak rather than manifolds themselves with a problem.. (especially if you've been wiggling that area of the engine around fitting your rocker covers etc)

Suspension-wise, I've known shocks make that sort of noise as the oil moves around in them without detriment to their use, but if its all a bit soft and not returning to "rest position" after a single bounce then they doubtless it needs replacing... whats it like to drive..??

Cheers
Matt.

OK, I have no found that the exhaust system is cracked. So it is being welded as I type. The shocks on the front are shot, I reckon. Should hopefully pick up a set of AVOs tomorrow or there abouts.

Small leak from the joing between the right angle bend pipes and the manifolds, but there was a huge leak from the system itself.

I think the car's ok, but I've nothing to compare it against.
