With car and good odometer take on Motorway.
Count off 16 marker posts (old M ways have these every half furlong)to conform they are set at miles as 16 = 1 mile. Beware as some M ways converting quietly to KM posts. Odometer will show you this by being out over a mile.

Now with car you want speedo checking:

Take 1 Passenger.
Equip him with stop watch.
Go on M way and settle speedo and drive at constant 60 or 50 mph.
(Join MLOC - Middle lane owners Club).
Pass marker post activate stop watch.
Count off Posts.
Stop Stopwatch passing 16th post.
Time should read 1 minute (60 mph) or 1.12(50 mph)

Should give a good guide as to the accuracy of the speedo.

Or spend a months wages on one of those new fangled things that plot you from space.

Or make friends with a blackrat that wears a white top and ask him where the BiB Measured mile is (same recipe
as Motorway checking)

Seems like a valuable precaution as it seems you can lose your driving license for pretty much anything non-driving related.

Spot on Milly. Plod just waking up to the "new " power to disqualify for any offence after the old gadgey was done for obstructing the Police by warning of speed trap.

Cleveland just got it home in dealing with a kerb crawler in their red light area. Fine and a ban.

Just waiting for the first Drunk and Disordely to be fined and disqaulified?????
